WHAT THE SESSION IS
The Awareness Edge™ Session is ninety minutes with Mal Barrett. One question sits at the centre of it: what is the quality of awareness behind how you currently lead — and what is it producing? Mal works from what he hears, not from a deck. There's no process to move through and no curriculum waiting afterward.
WHAT THE SESSION IS NOT
It is not coaching. Not a program with stages and homework. Not a framework delivered to you, and not a discovery call in another costume. You've done versions of those. This is a peer conversation with someone who has carried the same weight you carry.
WHAT MAL IS ATTENDING TO
Mal listens for what you've stopped noticing because you see it every day. The distance between the answer you give and the question underneath it. The recurring dynamic you've filed under bad luck or the wrong people. The decision you keep remaking. He isn't there to agree, or to hand your own words back to you. He tells you what he sees.
THE WRITTEN REFLECTION
Within forty-eight hours, Mal sends you his written reflection. Not a transcript, not a summary of what was said — his actual observations from the conversation, in his own words, specific to what he noticed in you. You read it away from the room, once the conversation has had time to settle. Most people return to it more than once.
Most leaders leave with a clearer view of the specific place their awareness is costing them — in decisions, in people, or in what the organisation is quietly building.

It isn't for someone looking for a program to enrol in, a framework to apply, or a facilitated process that moves at the pace of the room. And it isn't for someone at the start — this conversation assumes you've already covered that ground.
ABOUT MAL BARRETT
Mal Barrett built and ran businesses before he advised anyone on how to lead them — including a renewable-energy company he founded and scaled to a multimillion-dollar operation of around sixty people. He has led teams through real pressure, where decisions carried cost. The Awareness Edge™ is his work; it is not a coaching practice, and he is not a coach. What makes the conversation different is coherence — he has done this work on himself first, and still does.
The observation he offers in the written reflection comes from years of the same practice — not borrowed from a methodology.
